The Intercessory Prayer Group Report
Purpose: to follow our Lord’s example in prayer.
“Jesus went to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.” (Luke 6:12)
How do we become functional intercessors? Through Jesus,
our Counselor.
“Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, my servant also will be.
My Father will honor the one who serves Me.”
(John 12:26).
The prayer group’s visible acts of service for 2006:
v Weekly prayer
group for the concerns expressed by the body of Christ
v Prayer for
those desiring it in the Wissler Room after the Sunday worship service
v Coordination of the Prayer Chain
v Coordination of a Jericho Walk and 24
Hour Prayer Vigil before the May Dunamis conference
Goal: to initiate ways for the body of Christ to unite in prayer and praise services inviting
other churches to participate.
Special
thanks go to one of our long-time intercessors with a true servant’s heart, Betty Ann Hearn, who continues to demonstrate
her great love for Christ and His people by faithfully praying for the concerns shared by all SPC’s members. This past year we have also been blessed to welcome two new intercessors to the weekly prayer meeting,
Susan Rice and Anthony Marsalisi. The prayer group joins in Spirit with all in
our church family who pray faithfully for the needs set before us each week. We would be delighted to have others join us as
your schedule allows on any Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Memorial Chapel.
Our
intercessors are committed to pray for anyone, at anytime, be it over the phone or in person on Wednesday evenings or after
the Sunday worship service.
In Christ’s love,
Victoria Shaw
